John H. Good – President / CEO & Exhibit Producer

The President/Exhibit Producer for Exhibit IQ, John Good, has over thirteen years of museum exhibition experience. He formerly served as a director at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County following a career in corporate communications and nonprofit management. At the Natural History Museum John was responsible for the development and funding of special exhibits and programs. During his museum tenure, he was instrumental in securing funding for special exhibits and programs and worked on over a dozen major exhibitions and educational initiatives including five major NSF funded projects.

In addition to his museum experience, John is also experienced in arts management. For two years he served as a director for Inner-City Arts in Downtown L.A., which, during his tenure, was recognized by the White House with a Coming Up Taller Award. He has also served as the executive producer of a major live theatrical production that opened in Los Angeles and was performed in Las Vegas. His combined communications, theater, and museum exhibition experience ensures that he brings a high level of creativity, ingenuity and experience to every project he is involved with. He is also active in the community. In 2007 John concluded a four-year tenure on the Getty House Foundation’s Board of Directors in Los Angeles. He served as the foundation’s president for three of those years. He also served as Vice President for the Arts Council for the City of Long Beach for three years and co-chaired the City’s Annual Smithsonian Week event twice. John currently serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the Las Vegas Natural History Museum and Founder & Co-Director for the Las Vegas Science Festival 2011. He is a frequent speaker at museum industry conferences. He has led or spoken on panels at conferences for the American Association of Museums, the Association of Science & Technology Centers, and the California Association of Museums. In 2009/10, John served as a guest instructor for a class at Virginia Tech on “Communicating Science.”

Victoria L. Ribeiro – VP / Director of Exhibits & Marketing

Victoria is a focus-driven professional with over 10 years of multifaceted experience in production and marketing. A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Victoria began her career as a producer of live talk television programs in the Las Vegas market. After dabbling in the marketing of the local TV station where she produced, she expanded into the rapidly growing Las Vegas stage entertainment arena. Over the course of her career she performed a diverse range of responsibilities including stage management, publicity, event planning, marketing, media buying, corporate re-branding, office management, personnel management, client relations and held overall profit/loss accountabilities for three major shows and two exhibitions on the Las Vegas strip.

Most recently Victoria served nearly three years as the Director of Marketing for the permanent installations of Bodies...The Exhibition and Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition for Premier Exhibitions at the Luxor Hotel & Casino which enjoyed increased exposure in the marketplace, decreased spending and significantly enhanced overall operational profitability during her tenure. Victoria joined Exhibit IQ in early 2009. In her capacity of Vice President, Director of Exhibits & Marketing she oversees sales, marketing, client services and production.

Nancy A. McCrickard, M.A. - VP / Director of Content & Interpretation

Nancy brings a perspective informed from over 20-years of involvement in a broad spectrum of learner-engagement experiences in both formal and informal learning environments. She recently concluded ten-years of involvement with the Science Museum of Western Virginia in Roanoke, Virginia. In her early years with the Museum, she served as a museum educator, developing and teaching programs for students from preschool to high school and conducting teacher-training sessions. The last five years she served as the Museum’s Executive Director. As the Executive Director, she played a key role in conceptualizing and launching a plan to reinvent how the Museum serves western Virginia through the renovation of over 50,000 square feet of exhibit and program space and the creation of state-of-the-art interactive learning experiences. In 2006, the Virginia Association of Science Teachers awarded her the Science Educator Award for outstanding contributions to science education. Now on behalf of Exhibit IQ, continues to be involved with the SMWV Reinvention project. Prior to her work in informal learning environments, Nancy taught in the formal science-learning environment. She was a high school biology teacher at Ferguson High School in Newport News, Virginia and an eighth grade science teacher at Lombard Junior High School in Lombard, Illinois.

 

Travis Allen - Design Director

Travis Allen possesses a distinctive understanding of architecture as a combination of aesthetics, tectonics and human behaviors and a passion for applying that awareness to effect education and entertainment.

As design director for Exhibit IQ, he provides drafting, 3-D modeling, hand rendering and digital fabrication of concepts and components of unique science and cultural exhibits. Additionally, he oversees graphic design, video production and editing of collateral materials that accompany traveling exhibitions.

Prior to joining Exhibit IQ, Allen was a senior intern architect for The Richardson Partnership, Inc. in Las Vegas where he served as job captain and project designer for commercial projects, including the Big Town Mechanical headquarters, Lamborghini restaurant and showroom, and J.A. Cesare head offices.

Allen earned a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado, Denver.

While a graduate student, Allen completed a study abroad program in Rome and served as a teaching assistant for the College of Architecture & Planning at UCD, presenting a lecture on Place Making for an upper division Environment & Behavior course. A dean’s list student, he earned an AIA Colorado 2010 Young Architects Award, UCD Spring Design Excellence Award and was a finalist for the Fielden Medal for Academic Excellence in Architecture.

Allen is a 450-Hour Term Service Member of the UCAN Serve Americorps program and is co-chair of programs for the
2011 Las Vegas Science Festival.
